Full Mouth Reconstruction

Life gets busy, time goes by, and pretty soon you may find yourself dealing with a combination of dental issues that need to be addressed. Whether it’s worn or fractured teeth, multiple missing teeth, old failing restorations, or all of the above, full mouth reconstruction combines several treatments into one coordinated plan to rebuild your smile’s function and appearance.

What Full Mouth Reconstruction Includes

Dr. Thomas W. Kauffman evaluates, plans, and completes full mouth reconstruction (FMR) cases at his downtown Atlanta practice. As the name implies, the aim is to restore full health and function to your smile, instead of a series of disconnected procedures performed over time. And with various sedation options, we can complete several treatments during one longer appointment.

If you would like to learn more about this approach, call us at (404) 524-1981 to schedule a comprehensive evaluation.

How Dr. Kauffman Plans Treatment

Full mouth reconstruction starts with a comprehensive evaluation. Dr. Kauffman uses CBCT 3D imaging to view bone structure, jaw alignment, and the condition of every tooth in detail, which a standard exam or 2D x-ray cannot provide. From there, he builds a single, all-inclusive treatment plan rather than addressing each tooth separately.

That plan may combine implants, crowns, bridges, and other restorative or cosmetic treatments, sequenced in the order that makes sense for your case. Digital planning tools, including CEREC for same-day restorations, allow Dr. Kauffman to design and place certain components more efficiently than traditional methods. You will understand the full scope of your treatment before it begins, not procedure by procedure as you go.

Sedation Options for More Productive Appointments

FMR often involves multiple procedures, and for many patients, that scope of treatment is the most intimidating part. Sedation addresses that directly.

Dr. Kauffman personally administers IV and conscious sedation, allowing you to remain comfortable while he completes significantly more of your treatment in a single visit than would otherwise be possible. Instead of finding time for many separate appointments, you may be able to complete several steps of your reconstruction at once, then wake up with much of the work already done.

Full Mouth Reconstruction Technology

Innerview® Oral Health Tracking

Innerview® Oral Health Tracking

InnerView® is a diagnostic device that measures the structural integrity inside a tooth or implant, something a visual exam or standard x-ray cannot fully capture. Using gentle micro-taps and sensor data, it generates an objective reading of internal stability in about three seconds per tooth.

Dr. Kauffman uses InnerView during routine exams, implant monitoring, and treatment planning. For you, it means structural problems like cracks or implant instability can be caught early, often before you feel any pain.
